PRIVACY POLICY

When you use the services of Camping de Brem, it is necessary for us to record some of your personal data. It is our policy to handle your personal data with the utmost care and transparency. Through this Privacy Policy, we would like to inform you for what purposes and how we process your personal data. This Privacy Policy applies to all personal data we process when you make a reservation with us, use our services, visit our website, or when we communicate with you. This Privacy Policy was last amended on January 20, 2023 and supersedes all previous versions of this Privacy Policy.

Who are we?

Camping de Brem is committed to providing you with the perfect holiday. Camping de Brem means the private company with limited liability Camping de Brem B.V., which has its registered office in Renesse at Hoogenboomlaan 11a (4325 DD).

What data do we collect from you and why?

Your personal data is mainly processed by us to provide you with the perfect holiday. We would like to build a lasting relationship with you so that we can continue to serve you in the future and provide you with offers based on your interests or reservation history.

Making a reservation

When you make a reservation for one of the accommodations we offer, we automatically record the information about you that is necessary to make the accommodation available to you. We offer the accommodations for rent ourselves, but they are also offered by our partners. In the event that you make a reservation through one of our partners, this Privacy Policy shall apply equally. We will remind you of this again once we have received your information, unless it would require a disproportionate effort on our part to notify you or the information must remain confidential.

Reservation details

Reservation details are information about the holiday you have booked with us, such as the type of accommodation, arrival date, departure date, travel party, as well as your preferences. In order to complete your reservation, we record this information in our reservation system.

Name and address details

We need your name and address details in order to register your reservation in our reservation system and for registration in the compulsory night register, but also, for example, to be able to comply with the obligation to submit tourist tax returns. If you have any further questions about this, we kindly ask you to contact us at info@campingdebrem.nl or by phone at +31 (0)111 462 626.

Phone number and email address

You will receive confirmation of your reservation at the email address you provided, together with interesting information about the holiday resort and its surroundings. Should we have any questions shortly before your stay, we will call you.

Date of birth

Reservations can only be made by persons over 21 years of age. By providing your date of birth, we can verify that you are indeed authorized to make a reservation.

Bank account number

Payment for your reservation can be made through 'My Camping de Brem' or by bank transfer. A security deposit will be charged for most accommodations. We record your bank account number for the sole purpose of refunding your security deposit. We will not and cannot ever deduct any amount from your account. If you wish to pay by credit card, your information will be forwarded to our finance department who will process the payment. We are never privy to your credit card information, but we can see that you have paid by credit card.

My Camping de Brem

After reserving a holiday with us, you can activate a personal 'My Camping de Brem'. With 'My Camping de Brem' you can view and change your personal data, and manage your holiday affairs online up to one day before arrival. For this purpose, we record the data you provided when making the reservation. You can also see your reservation history in 'My Camping de Brem'.

Marketing Newsletters

After you make a reservation at Camping de Brem or subscribe to our newsletter via the website, we will use your email address to send our (personalized) newsletters. Personalized newsletters are defined as newsletters that relate to holidays that are similar to holidays you have previously booked or that match your stated interests regarding holidays. This way, you will not receive an unnecessary number of email messages. Of course, you are under no obligation to disclose your interests to us when we ask you to do so. We will send newsletters no more than once a week. When you receive a newsletter from us, we can see whether you received the newsletter, whether you opened the newsletter, and whether you clicked on a link in the newsletter. A link in the newsletter allows you to unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Ads on other platforms

We also use your email address to show you ads on Facebook that match your interests. We can never tell which ads are shown to which person, nor can we tell if a Facebook account is linked to your email address. Please let us know if you do not wish to see personalized ads on Facebook. When you visit the Camping de Brem website, we use cookies to show you personalized ads on other websites.

Contacting our guest services

Our guest services are happy to assist you in case you have a question about your reservation or your stay. We offer several contact options to do so.

Online contact

When you contact us through the contact form on the website, your salutation, name and contact information are recorded. When an inquiry is made via social media or the online chat, only your name and email address are recorded. The same applies in case you send us a message by email. Recording the data is necessary to communicate with you. In addition, this enables us to quickly and efficiently answer your question and find your information along with it.

Contact by phone

We may record telephone conversations for quality control and training purposes. You will always be notified of the recording of the call prior to the conversation. The recordings are kept for a short period of time and then automatically deleted. When you contact our guest services, you may be asked a number of verification questions to ensure that your information does not end up with someone else.

Improvement of services

Your opinion matters to us. We are very curious about how you experienced making your reservation and your subsequent stay. After making a reservation, we may possibly ask you to complete a survey, based on which we are able to improve the reservation process. After your stay, you may also receive a second request to complete a survey. We will use your review about your stay internally to improve our services and will only be posted on the Camping de Brem review platform with your permission.

Website usage

When you use our website, we will automatically store certain information. This may include information from which URL you arrived, which URL you went to, which browser you are using, your IP address, and the date and time you accessed our website. We also collect data about the hardware, software, and Internet browser you use. We use this information as part of the normal use and management of our website and may disclose it in aggregate form. This grouping makes it impossible to trace the data back to a particular user. We are not interested in data that says anything about the identity of the visitor to our site. Camping de Brem does have an interest in information that says something about site usage, such as: how many visitors do we get? What are the busiest hours, and which pages are visited the most? Camping de Brem uses cookies and other technologies on its website.

Analyses for management information purposes

Finally, data such as the province and country where you live, as well as your family composition, can be used to perform analyses for management information. However, in this case your data is completely anonymized and cannot be traced back to you as an individual.

Data we receive from third parties

Sometimes we do not receive data directly from you, but from another party instead. For example, when you make a reservation for one of our accommodations through a partner of ours, that partner will send some information about you to us. This allows us to register and handle your reservation. Questions or changes regarding your reservation or stay can also be communicated to us by our partners. If reasonably possible, we will notify you when we receive your information. Any information we receive from third parties may be combined with information provided by you.

What are the lawful purposes?

When processing your personal data, we adhere to the rules set forth in the General Data Protection Regulation. Therefore, there is always a lawful purpose for processing your personal data. Your data is primarily processed when making a reservation. We require this data for the execution of the agreement between you and Camping de Brem. If you do not provide us with the required personal data, you will not be able to use our services. For processing your data in the context of improving our services, our marketing activities and contact moments with our guest services, Camping de Brem has a legitimate interest to do so. In doing so, we have carefully weighed your interests against those of the organization. Moreover, the processing of some of your data is also necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we are required by law to record some of your information in the night register. Should we want to know more data about you, we will always ask for your permission.

To which parties do we disclose your personal data?

Given that we manage the resort ourselves, we are required to record your name, residence, arrival and departure dates in the night register. The municipality may ask us to provide the data from the night register. In relation to the mandatory tourist tax return, we also provide the municipality with your zip code, place of residence, date of birth, family composition, arrival date and departure date each year. After making a reservation, we retain your information so that our employees at the resort are well prepared to receive you. However, we only retain the personal data necessary for the performance of the agreement. We are in charge of taking care of the surveys ourselves. We may ask you to complete a survey. Of course, you are under no obligation to do so. With your permission, we may post the survey you complete on Camping de Brem's review platform. To manage our systems and deliver our services, we use third-party services, such as IT vendors. We ensure that these third parties handle your data properly, if and to the extent that they have access to it. For showing targeted ads on Facebook, your email address may be provided to Facebook. In the unlikely event that you do not pay your invoices on time, we are forced to hand over your account to a collection agency or a bailiff. The data necessary to collect your debt will be passed on to the collection agency or bailiff. Data collected through cookies may be shared with the parties that placed those cookies.

How long do we retain your data?

We will not retain your data for longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy, unless a legal requirement requires us to retain the data for a longer period. Our goal is to build a lasting relationship with you. Your data will be anonymized at the time this relationship ends. Contact moments with our guest services are deleted within one year of the contact moment, unless the content of the messages may be relevant to your reservation or any future reservations. Phone calls will be deleted within 3 months. We keep your reviews posted on our websites for up to 7 years after the review is posted.

How will your personal data be safeguarded?

Camping de Brem has technical and organizational security measures in place to protect your data from loss or unauthorized use, such as unauthorized data access. This takes into account the technology and costs associated with its implementation so that we can ensure an appropriate level of security given the risks posed by the processing and the nature of the data to be protected. Our policy is to ensure that only employees who actually need access to your personal data to perform their jobs have access to it.

What are your rights?

Right of access, rectification, restriction, erasure

If your personal data is processed by Camping de Brem, you have the right to receive a copy of the data collected about you. You also have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format. A request to do so can be sent by email to: info@campingdebrem.nl.  You can also send your request in writing to Camping de Brem, Hoogenboomlaan 11a, 4325 DD Renesse. Camping de Brem will respond to your request within one month. You can also access and correct your data through 'My Camping de Brem'. If the transcript shows that your data is inaccurate or incomplete or, in your opinion, given the purpose of the registration, does not belong in Camping de Brem's database, you can ask Camping de Brem to modify, delete, or limit said data. You also have the right to object to the processing of your data. You can also use the above email address or mailing address for such requests. If you ask us to modify or delete data necessary for the performance of the agreement, this may result in you no longer being able to use our services.

Right to withdraw consent

If you have previously consented to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. We will subsequently refrain from continuing to process your data based on your consent.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the way we handle your personal data, please let us know by sending us an email (info@campingdebrem.nl) or letter (Camping de Brem, Hoogenboomlaan 11a, 4325 DD Renesse). We will do our best to remedy your complaint. You also have the right to file your complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
